Do The Pulitzers Need a Competitor?
The Pulitzer Prize is the most prestigious award in journalism but their response to changes in publishing has been slow. Jack Dorsey, Julian Assange, Andrew Sullivan, Andy Carvin, and anyone at a magazine or broadcast org are ineligible for a Pulitzer because they don't meet the requirements of working at a newspaper or a 'news site'. Many grumble about their decisions but if they're really that antiquated, they can be unseated by a better award.

The fact that Andy Carvin did not (and could not) win the Pulitzer for Breaking News is reason enough. He's the living breathing example of the modern animal of breaking news.
